How Choose UV Ink

UV ink comes in both hard and soft types, so how should we choose the appropriate UV ink?

Ink Selection:
1. For customers who require UVDTF printing, it is necessary to use CMYKW hard ink and V soft ink.
2. For other materials, it is recommended to use soft ink. Although the adhesion of soft ink may not be strong immediately after printing, it will achieve the same adhesion as hard ink over time and is less likely to clog the printhead.
3. If a customer wants to print on soft materials like leather while also needing UVDTF printing, both cannot be compatible at the same time. In this case, it is recommended that they prepare a set of CMYKW hard ink with V soft ink and CMYKW soft ink.

UV ink is not universally applicable. PP and PE cannot be printed on. ABS, PC, PET, and PVC can be printed on, while PU, TPU, and high-quality acrylic can be printed directly. For leather, metal, wood, and glass, a coating is required before printing, and silicone also needs a coating. It is recommended to test on all materials before mass printing. For materials with insufficient adhesion, you can choose the appropriate coating.

UV ink can withstand brief rinsing on some materials or coatings but cannot be put in a dishwasher. UV printing should not be used for tableware, ceramics, or glass, even with a coating. Printing on tableware should only be done using traditional methods, such as screen printing or firing.
